Rachael began her musical journey at the age of 5 and now holds both associate and licentiate (with distinction) performance diplomas from Trinity College of Music, having studied music and education at Wells Cathedral School, Trinity College of Music and the University of Cambridge.  A member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians, Rachael has a varied and extensive teaching background of over ten years, across classroom, small group and individual tuition, privately and within both the independent and state education systems.   She has experience of numerous teaching methodologies employed in environments ranging from formal tuition to cross-curricular teaching, using creative techniques and projects alongside musical play and games, continuously developing new and enjoyable educational approaches to enhance the musical experience.

For those seeking to excel in examinations, Rachael offers a strong pedigree of pupil success in ABRSM and LCM exams, across a wide range of student abilities and ages.  She also has a deep enthusiasm and understanding of playing for pleasure, having led Marlow Orchestra, performed as a freelance musician including regular engagements with Earcandy Strings, both played and supported education outreach with Slough Philharmonic Orchestra, and played with the National Children’s Orchestra and National Youth Sinfonia including performing at the BBC Proms.

Further afield, Rachael's interests include her family and life in the village where she voluntarily and frequently plays music in support of local events, travel, the coast, and the slightly unusual game of disc (or frisbee!) golf, about which she'll happily share her experiences of various courses across the UK and USA.
